About the Producer:
Vallepicciola is a winery located in the hills of Chianti Classico, nestled in the Vallepicciola area, 10 minutes from Siena. The Winery overlooks nearly 275 hectares of rolling hills, woods and vineyards. The property includes 107 hectares of grapevines, including Sangiovese, Pinot Nero, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc e Chardonnay.
About the Wine:
Vineyard grown on limestone and clay soil, with presence of galestro and alberse. Cultivated using spurred cordon and guyot training system. Harvest on the third decade of September. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for 7 to 10 days under controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques. Aged in barrique for 8 to 10 months and in bottle for 4 to 6 months.
Organoleptic Notes:
Deep ruby red color, with violet nuances. Scents of dark fruit, pleasant balsamic fragrances and spicy notes. Rich and full mouthfeel.
Pairing: Roasts, game meats and medium-aged cheeses.
