About the Producer:
Fontanavecchia was founded by the Rillo family, in the beginning of the 19th century, and today is one of the outstanding wine-producing facilities in the Campania region. The estate expands over 18 hectares of vineyards in the Beneventano district of the Samnium region. Tradition, local pride, and continuous striving to maintain the highest excellence define the philosophy of the Rillo family and show in all the wines they produce. The story of the wine \ of Fontanavecchia is inextricably linked to the history of the Samnium region and its wines: Falanghina del Sannio and Aglianico del Taburno. These two precious grape varieties have come back into fashion thanks to the steady effort of the Rillo family and are renowned worldwide today.
About the Wine:
Vines are grown on argillaceous soil with lime-rich marlstone outcrops and cultivated using the guyot training system. Fruit is selected and collected in crates, harvested in the first third of September. Vinification begins with direct pressing at controlled temperature and 7 days of fermentation. and aged in stainless steel.
Organoleptic Notes:
Straw yellow with pale green reflections. Aromas of wild flowers, honeysuckle, citrus and tropical fruits. Mineral notes and subtle spicy overtones.
Pairing: Seafood flavors like scallops, clams, shrimp, or shellfish. Baked tomatoes and marjoram.
