Cantina Toblino Muller Thurgau
About the Producer:
Cantina Toblino was founded in 1960 to enhance the grapes conferred by the winemakers of the Valle dei Laghi. Cantina Toblino receives the grapes from more than 600 winegrowers for a total of over 850 hectares of vineyards. Their history continues and it is renewed every day. What does not change, however, is the constant search for precision and quality both in the management of the vineyards and in the process of vinification and aging in the cellar. Today as in the past, the secret of their success lies in the harmony between their members-winegrowers and its vineyards. Cantina Toblino also practices organic viticulture, which means supporting the natural processes that regulate the balance within the ecosystem.
About the Wine:
The pedo-climatic conditions and location of the vineyards in the hills and mountains of the Cavedine Valley, Bleggio and near Stenico, are the secret of the aroma and elegance of this Müller Thurgau. Only in these areas does the fresh climate and the wide temperature range allow the characteristics of this varietal wine to express themselves at their best. After crushing-destemming, soft pressing takes place with cold maceration which guarantees the best extraction of aromas, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature. Followed by a few months of aging in stainless steel.
Organoleptic Notes:
Pale straw yellow color with distinctive greenish hues. Intense and elegant sensations, typical of this variety, with pleasant aromatic notes. On the palate it is dry and fresh with a fairly long finish.
Pairing: Fresh cheeses and fish dishes, especially crustaceans and molluscs. Try as an aperitif.
Notes: This grape variety was obtained in 1882 by the Swiss researcher Hermann Müller, native of the "Thurgau" canton of Switzerland, by cross pollinating Rheingau Riesling with Chasselas.
