White Wine Blazic Zegla Friulano Collio DOC

About the Producer:
Blazic Wine Estate was founded in 1923, and it is a family-run winery located in the heart of the hills of Cormòns, in Zegla. Its location, the Collio Hills, lies halfway between the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps. Cutting-edge techniques and strict respect for the environment make all the magic of fruit aromas and flavors, and the original nature of the vineyards of Zegla and Via Delle Vigne give their best to the Blazic family wines. The climate is mild with temperatures moderated by the sea and protected from winds and storms by the mountains. Soil mainly consisting of stratified Eocene marl and sandstone, is the cradle upon which the Blazic Family tend to their vines with expertise and passion.

About the Wine:
Vines are grown on Marl and sandstone soil, cultivated using the guyot training system. Manually harvested in the second quarter of September. Vinification starts with 3 days maceration on the skins at room temperature. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. Aged 2 years in 1000L oak barrels, 1 year in concrete tanks and 2 final years in bottles.

Organoleptic Notes:
Golden yellow. Explosion of aromas of ripe fruits, herbs and yellow fruits. Complex structure, great acidity, mineral, fresh, intriguingly persistent on the palate.

Pairing: Baked sea bass, grilled eel, rice dishes, aged and blue-veined cheese, white meat, red meat preparations.
