Colterenzio Pinot Grigio
About the Producer:
Colterenzio is a small area on the outskirts of Alto Adige, a place that looks back on a centuries-old tradition of winemaking. Founded in 1960, they are one of the newest wineries in Alto Adige, and over 300 families work behind the winery scenes. Colterenzio estate has over 300 hectares of vineyards, with 14 different varietals of grapes growing from an altitude ranging from 230 to 650 meters. In 2009 Colterenzio cellar was fully renovated to become energy self-sufficient.
About the Wine:
Vines are grown in gravely and sandy soil, with a high calcium carbonated content. The microclimate is cool with strong contrasts between day and nighttime temperatures. The juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature of 18 °C, after which the young wine refines on its fine lees for several months before bottling.
Organoleptic Notes:
Pale straw yellow in color with an attractive aroma of citrus fruits, peach and honeydew melon. Medium rich, mouth filling, mellow with finesse, discreet fruit aromas and impressive length. Fruity and direct on the palate with orchard fruit flavors and tangy acidity on the finish.
Pairing: Fennel and orange salad, grilled sea bass, pasta, marinated squid salad and a variety of poultry dishes.
